ABOUT MAYA

Maya Man is a London-based make up & prosthetic artist and designer, since 2015. Her wide range of credits include examples in film/TV, commercial, fashion and music. (see ARCHIVE for full credits.)

In the last year, Maya has taken on regular clients, building close working relationships with music artists, actors & production companies. She is currently producing a series called Painting Friends over on her instagram @mayamanartist

​

Her latest prosthetic project was a short commercial film for Palace Skateboard and New balance.

2020 sees her part of the UK team on Beyonce, Brown Skin Girl music video. Regular work with other musicians are Little Simz, Kojey Radical, Jungle. Her current artists are Wet Leg, Lava La Rue, Josie Man, Easy Life & Rose Grey.

 

Her most recent film was shooting is Glasgow for Girl which is in post production (2022).

A Banquet and Gospel According to Gail have picked up many awards across 2020-21 film festivals. 

She designed for Indie feature film Infinite (2018-19) & EXTINCTION (2019) starring the likes of Emma Thompson, Rakhee Thakrar, Asa Butterfield and Tanya Reynolds.

Working internationally, she was the UK-based makeup artist for two Chinese Film/TV productions, and for VICE CHINA. see (IMDB)

 

In addition to her Film and TV credits, Maya worked on multiple sport campaigns, commercials, lifestyle and editorial, having her debut cover story for THE FACE MAGAZINE [2019] and regular contributor to them throughout 2019. Rolling Stone UK is her most recent Cover (2023) with artist Loyle Carner.

Maya showcases a wide range of valuable skill sets, enabling her to adapt to all aspects of hair, make and prosthetics with confidence and professionalism.  She takes pride in her craft, showing an eagerness to tackle new challenges, learn from her co-workers, and treat every job as an opportunity to not only exhibit her skills, but to develop them.  She learnt and applied advanced CGI tracking makeup, working as a trainee in the make-up department for the film CATs (2019).

In 2017, Maya graduated from UAL: London College of Fashion with a Bachelors Degree in Hair, Makeup and Prosthetics for performance. 

Prior to her BA she studied Foundation Graphic Design at London College of Communication (2014), and Art & Design at The BRIT School for performing arts and technology (2009-2013).
